Science Courses

Looking for science courses to fill your Core Curriculum needs? The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management has two new classes for you:

KINE 120 – A one credit-hour course that fulfills Life and Physical Science core curriculum credit.

  • This course provides a general overview of the human body and focuses on the scientific foundation of stress, exercise, nutrition, and drug use effects. Students participate in a focus activity that allows them to apply the principles of conditioning. Wellness, longevity, and lifetime activity are emphasized throughout the course. KINE 120 is available in traditional and hybrid course formats.

KINE 223 – A three credit-hour course that fulfills Life and Physical Science core curriculum credit.

  • This course uses an interdisciplinary format to guide students through an investigation of the impacts of stress, exercise, nutrition, addiction, and aging. Integrated physical activity allows the students to apply the scientific principles of conditioning. Students gather data related to their stress, sleep, nutrition, fitness, and biometrics and formulate a plan based on their findings.  Teamwork is a significant component of KINE 223, and the course is available in traditional and hybrid formats.
